Frequently asked questions.
What materials do you use?
I use variety of materials, but most of my work is paints on canvas, hardboard, or paper. I use oils and acrylic paints of various brands, pencils, charcoal, oil pastels and oil sticks, stencils, gesso to prep the surfaces, and varnish (usually matt, but can use gloss finish sometimes) to seal. I use a variety of brands because colours vary and I may prefer one brand to another for a particular colour. Details of the materials used will be with each painting listed online.
Are your paintings framed?
I most often work in deep edged canvases, so they can be hung unframed on a wall and you can attach mirror plates (if you want me to do this, let me know - at no extra cost). However, I feel that framing is very personal to you and your home (colour, style, size, materials), so this is best done in partnership with your local framer.
Saying that, occasionally some paintings may already be framed (if, for example, they have been in exhibition, usually in a white frame), and if so, this will be indicated on the web page and included in the price.
Do you sell prints of your work?
Not at the moment.
Do you accept commission requests?
No, sorry. My painting practice often moves on, so I don’t want to go back to something I’ve painted before. What you see on the website is what is available.
Are you open to collaborations?
Yes, send me a message and we shall talk.
How do you package and deliver the paintings?
Please see the delivery page for further details.
Are you on social media?
Yes! Find me on Instagram. I’ve found this is the most art-friendly of all of the socials.
