Hi, I’m Andrea

My Journey

I’m Andrea, an abstract artist and poet living and working in North Wales. My creative path began in childhood and eventually led me to an MA in Fine Art from the University of Chester which I completed in 2020. Over the years, my work has evolved into a visual language of layered memory, curiosity, and emotion.

As someone living with fibromyalgia, I’ve found painting to be both sanctuary and expression. It’s a quiet, powerful way to process, make sense of, and soften what I carry—both visible and hidden.

What Inspires Me

My work explores the space between seen and unseen, known and unknown—often inspired by personal memories, sensory landscapes, and emotional shifts. I’m drawn to botanical shapes, distant hills, and inner terrain, layering colour, marks and creating texture to make work that feels intimate and evocative of traces, layers, and memories.

My process is a unique process of discovery. It’s intuitive, led by feeling and response. Sometimes a painting captures a fleeting moment; other times, it becomes a space to return to.

What I Offer

Each painting I create is a one-off original—there are no prints or copies. I also offer a small number of commissioned works each year for collectors looking for something deeply personal.

In addition to selling my work, I offer UK-based art rentals. I can also give presentations (online and face-to-face) to universities, artist groups, or other groups who want to hear about my work, processes and life. If you’d like to work with me, you can reach out via my Contact page.
